Position description

The Building Systems Technician responds to building automation system alarms and completes preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment as scheduled. The technician is responsible to operate, diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and electronic building systems with the guidance as necessary from SR Technician position. These systems include air handling equipment, fire alarm systems, building automation systems, fluid pumping for cooling and heating, security card access, refrigeration, freezer alarm systems and boilers. Computer operation will be required with all the different types of systems. Investigate and solve all emergency and repair calls received. Communicate with all maintenance shops with work order systems and telephone on call maintenance staff as necessary. The Preventative Maintenance duties includes belt replacement, lubrication, filter changing, and pressure washing inside of air handling equipment.

A two-year vocation degree or certificate in a HVAC, mechanical maintenance, electronics, building maintenance or building automation systems; OR an Associates degree from an accredited program in HVAC, mechanical maintenance, electronics, building maintenance, building automation systems or another program that directly relates to building maintenance and/or building operations or 6 years of Mayo maintenance experience.

Additional qualifications

Experience working with Computers and DDC systems that control buildings systems.

Boilers license, and Universal Refrigeration certification are desirable.

License or certification

Driver license required.

Compensation Detail

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $21.66 per hour.

10 hour Evening/Night shifts with variable start times and variable nights of the week Monday - Friday
