Position description

Acts as an internal consultant by applying high order analytics and business expertise to the Mayo Clinic's Department of Development organization.

Assists with creating business insights through world class analytical tools and approaches. Identifies insights on prospects behaviors, financial performance, trends of giving, affinities, and use of departmental resources. This includes, but it is not limited to:

-Self-service tools & dashboards supporting functional areas of department,

-Integration of external data into existing ecosystem of prospect insights tools,

-Decision support for functional areas of department,

-Analysis supporting data driven strategies and tactics development,

-Provides input into data architecture supporting future and current needs,

-Basic forecasting and statistical modeling of prospects behaviors and affinities, as well as sentiment for a topic or funding interest,

-Other ad-hoc analysis and reports as needed.

Position requires ability to identify new data needs and ability to transform existing variables in a creative and meaningful way to serve the purpose. Requires "yes I can", creative, solution oriented attitude that is able to deal with imperfections. Candidate needs to have open mind and ability to take concepts developed by other industries and apply them to philanthropy.


-Bachelor's degree required: Engineering Science, Business Administration, or other related field with strong quantitative analytical skills.

-Minimum 4 years of experience in business analytics.

-Proficiency in SQL and Tableau is required.

-Experience in statistical packages, preferably SAS, Python, R/R Studio, STATA or SPSS preferred.

Additional qualifications

Well-developed oral and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize, organize, and delegate various tasks on multiple, concurrent projects. Ability to work in a fast pace project environment with minimum degree of supervision.

Demonstrated initiative/innovation, education, software development, technical reports.

Demonstrated success in project management and data intuition. Ability to communicate technical concepts to non technically savvy internal customers.

Understanding of strengths/limitations of individual data elements available to healthcare organizations.

Familiarity / experience with machine learning techniques and software libraries a plus. Desire to explore and learn AI to integrate with ecosystem of tools required.

Compensation Detail

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $3283.20, based on a full-time position.
